ORIGINAL STORY:

A Waterloo man has been arrested for allegedly leading police officers on a high-speed chase in Wisconsin.

According the Prairie Du Chien Police Department, officers pulled over 65-year-old Donald Hinrichs of Waterloo for a traffic violation early Saturday morning.

Police said he was driving left of the center line and didn't dim his car's bright headlights.

He initially stopped at the intersection of South Main Street and West Iowa Street in Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin.

When an officer walked towards his car, that's when Hinrichs sped away.

He led the officers on a chase on Highway 18, reaching speeds up to 60 mph.

Police eventually stopped Hinrichs one mile east of the intersection of U.S. 18 and Grant County Road.

He has been booked into a Wisconsin jail.
