ORIGINAL STORY:

A 19-year-old woman and an 85-year-old man were killed in a two car accident in Crawford County, Wisconsin, on Sunday afternoon.

It happened just after 2 p.m. near Messler Lane in Eastman Township.

A 2008 Chevy Impala driven by the 19-year-old was heading southbound when it hydroplaned on the wet pavement and spun into the northbound lane. It hit a 2013 Chevy Cruze in the rear. The Cruze was driven by the 85-year-old man from Tomah.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene by the Crawford County Coroner. The man and his 85-year-old wife had to be released from their vehicle using the Jaws of Life.

Both were sent to a nearby hospital where the driver died from his injuries. The Tomah woman was sent to a hospital in La Crosse where she remains in critical condition.

The Wisconsin State Patrol was called to reconstruct the accident. The highway was closed for over three hours.
