TRACKING RAIN: Rounds of showers, storms today

Posted: Updated:
We can expect to see several rounds of showers and storms track through the KWWL viewing area over the next couple of days. Severe weather isn't expected, but some storms could get strong with gusty winds.

A low will track northward and drag a warm front through Iowa. This will bring more showers and storms to the state in several rounds over the next few days.

We could see some locally heavy rainfall, too, with some in our viewing area getting upwards of an inch and a half. Storms will begin to track in Saturday night and lows will drop into the 50s. With a couple of rounds of showers and storms keeping us under clouds on Sunday, we will only be in the upper 60s to mid 70s, but we will warm into the upper 70s for Memorial Day through the rest of the week.

We will have several fronts tracking through the region this week and they will be close enough to keep a chance of showers in the area through the week, although not everyone will see rain each day.
