Volunteers from a Cedar Rapids business spent some time giving back to the environment this morning.

Employees from Honeywell's Intermec Technology Center converged on Indian Creek nature Center. They spent the day repairing and building benches, renovating bee hives, updating bridges, and improving trails.

"We're grateful for the assistance we're receiving today from this great group of volunteers," said Jean Wiedenheft, land stewardship director, Indian Creek Nature Center. "The work performed by Honeywell employees will go a long way in helping us continue to serve our community with great sustainability programming and events, as well as learning and leisure opportunities for visitors of all ages."

"We are pleased to work with Indian Creek Nature Center and Rebuilding Together to improve and enhance this beautiful location and help the Nature Center continue to serve our community," said Mark Steffens, engineering director and site leader-Honeywell Technology Center, Cedar Rapids. "As Honeywell employees, we're happy to have the opportunity to put our skills to work in a way that helps make a difference at Indian Creek Nature Center and in our community."
