At a Cyclone Tailgate tour stop in Clear Lake this evening, Iowa State Athletic Director Jamie Pollard addressed speculation that head Basketball Coach Fred Hoiberg might be leaving Ames to become the Chicago Bulls Head Coach.

Pollard said, "Everyone needs to take a step away from the ledge. I recognize it is tough on you guys it is tough on the players it is tough on fans. At the end of the day Fred has done an awful lot for our institution and the last 5 years has been pretty special. What the future holds I don't have an answer that's a personal decision that he has to make and its complicated. I'm not mad at him about that I am mad at the situation just cuz you guys don't want to keep talking about it too, but it is what it is life will go on and hopefully he will be our coach but if he isn't it won't be the first or last time a program has to move forward."

Hoiberg has not made a comment or been seen publicly since his open heart surgery last month.
