Survey: American adults rarely use enough sunscreen

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say that American adults rarely use the recommended amount of sunscreen, and men are particularly bad offenders.

The CDC survey says that 42% of men say they never use sunscreen. Women are a little more likely, especially when it comes to applying sunscreen to the face; however, less than 1/3 use it on other exposed skin.

The survey also says that nearly half of the people who do wear sunscreen aren't that informed, saying they don't know if they use a formula that protects against UVA and UVB rays.

Experts say that men are more likely to rely on protective clothing and shade because they feel using sunscreen is inconvenient and can be seen as not masculine.
