Four family members charged with robbing Martelle bank

Posted: Updated:

Four family members are facing federal bank robbery charges related to a bank robbery at the Exchange State Bank in Martelle in early April.

Shiloh Palmer, 22, Andrew Palmer, 24, Elizabeth Olinger, 26, and Peter Olinger, 42, have each been charged with four counts of bank robbery and related offenses. An Indictment, unsealed on Monday, claims they worked together to steal more than $30,000 from an employee of that bank. They allegedly used two shot guns during the robbery.

Investigators say they found the stolen money inside a mobile home in Mechanicsville, but they also found nearly 30 animals living inside, as well.

If convicted on all charges, they all face a mandatory minimum sentence of 17 years in prison and a possibility of maximum sentence of life.

Their next appearance will be a detention hearing on May 20.
