Iowa City splash pads, carnival rides, City Park Pool opening May 23

The City Park Pool, carnival rides at City Park, and two splash pads in Iowa City will open up on Saturday, May 23, in time for Memorial Day weekend.

The City Park Pool will be open from 11:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. with adult lap swim from 11:30 - 1:00 p.m. with the wading pool open for families with small children at that time, as well. Public swim hours are from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. and twilight swim is from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.

It costs $4 per person for day swim, children 2 and under get in for free. Twilight swim is $2 per person. Punch cards, and passes are also available.

The city's splash pads are open from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. and they're free to use.

The city's carnival rides are open from noon to 8:00 p.m. and tickets cost $1 per ride. Punch passes are also available on-site and at the City's recreation centers; they cost $8 per 10-punch pass.
