WATERLOO (KWWL) -

The Wartburg baseball team managed just 3 hits, but it would be enough as the 13th ranked Knights avoided elimination with a 4-2 win over #7 Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Junior Parker Bolt picked up the win with a tough performance on the mound. Bolt scattered 8 hits over a complete game performance, allowing just 2 runs.

The Knights opened the scoring without a hit in the first inning. After reaching base on a walk, Ryan Kemp scored on a dropped fly ball off the bat of D.J. Utley. They expanded the lead on their first hit of the game when Blake Wilson hammered a solo home run off the scoreboard in right-centerfield. Utley provided an insurance run in the 8th, knocking a double down the right field line, scoring Jackson Litterer from first.

With the win, Wartburg advances to another elimination game against Carthage College
