A Cedar Rapids man faces charges after police found almost $7,000 worth of equipment from the University of Iowa at his home.

According to criminal complaints, Brian Jarnagin, 35, of Cedar Rapids had floor buffs, vacuums, and fans from the UI Facilities Management inside his home.

Officers found these items while searching his address last month on a search warrant from previous charges. Jarnagin did not have permission to take them.

Jarnagin was charged with second-degree theft, a class D felony. He is currently held at Muscatine County Jail and is being held on $25,000 in bonds.
