LINN COUNTY (KWWL) - Two people had to be taken to the hospital after a car crash in Linn County.

Around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Linn County Sheriff's Office, Linn County Rescue, Ely Fire Department, and Area Ambulance Service responded to a 2 vehicle crash in the 8300 block of Ely Road just north of Ely.

According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, 18-year-old Iralee Jewett, Ely, rear ended a jeep driven by 23-year-old Anna Garnant, of Ely.

Jewett was the only person in her vehicle. Garnant had three passengers: 48-year-old Sheryl Garnant, 15-year-old Katie Garnant, and 62-year-old Maureen Smith.

Jewett and Sheryl Garnant were both taken to the hospital. They are expected to survive. Jewett was wearing a seat belt, Garnant was not.

Jewett was cited for Failure to Stop Within Assured Clear Distance.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate.
