Hawks sweep Minnesota with 7-1 win on Senior Day

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

 The Hawkeyes broke out the brooms for the 4th time this season. Iowa completed the sweep, dropping Minnesota 7-1 on Senior Day at Dwayne Banks Field.

Junior hurler Calvin Matthews won his second straight start, allowing the lone run in five innings of work. Senior Nick Hibbing picked up his league leading 6th save throwing four scoreless innings to close out the game.

Eric Toole and Jake Mangler each picked up a pair of RBI's for the Hawks, while senior Daniel Aaron Moriel hit his first career home run in the 6th inning.

Iowa opens their final regular season series on Thursday at Rutgers.
