WATERLOO (KWWL) - A 13-year-old boy is facing charges after police say he stabbed his 10-year-old brother with a razor.

It happened in the 300 block of Glenwood in Waterloo around 9:15 Monday night.

Police say the 10-year-old had to be taken to the hospital to receive multiple stitches in his back.

The situation makes one neighbor very nervous.

"I would never let [my son] go out in these streets, never," said Danielle Leno.

She lives less than a block away from where the stabbing happened.

"I'm not used to this stuff, the shootings, the stabbings, and it's just very scary, especially because I have a one year old," said Leno.

A stabbing -- just houses away from her.

"One street over where I can throw a ball...it seems to be where everything is happening," said Leno.

She said she's moving, because the violence is too much to handle.

"I won't even come out in the front yard with him, I stay toward the back yard."

The 13-year-old is now facing charges of willful injury.

Chief Juvenile Court Officer Ruth Frush says that charge is one of the most serious.

"Generally, willful injury, if it's used with a weapon, will qualify you to go to the state training facility."

KWWL spoke to a woman who lives in the Glenwood home who declined to comment.
