OELWEIN (KWWL) - A former Oelwein mayor was found not guilty on one of two charges for sex abuse he faced, and a jury deadlocked on the other charge Tuesday.

Jason Manus, who resigned as Oelwein's mayor in August after being charged with sexually abusing two girls in July and August of 2010, was found not guilty of third-degree sex abuse on Tuesday.

The jury, however, deadlocked on the other count of second-degree sex abuse, and a judge declared a mistrial.

A date for another trial has not yet been set.
