UPDATE: Woman arrested, charged with stabbing man

MARSHALLTOWN (KWWL) -

A 22-year-old Marshalltown woman is in jail after police say she stabbed a 33-year-old man in the abdomen.

Kyra Rayann Vance, 22, was arrested Tuesday and charged with willful injury, a felony, and aggravated domestic assault, an aggravated misdemeanor.

Police say Vance stabbed Ernest Sam, 33, in the abdomen. Sam was taken to Central Iowa Healthcare and is in serious, but not life-threatening, condition, according to the Marshalltown Police Department.

Vance remains in the Marshall County Jail.

The investigation is continuing.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Police are investigating an overnight stabbing in Marshalltown. 

According to the Marshalltown Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call from the 200 block of E. Webster Street around 5 a.m. Tuesday. 

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been stabbed in the stomach. He was sent to the hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.

His name or current condition have not been released. 

Police said they don't believe there is a suspect at large or any danger to the public.
