Survey: Most Americans don't check credit reports regularly

When's the last time you checked your credit report?

According to a new survey released by BankRate.com, more than 1 in 3 Americans (35 percent) have never checked any of their credit reports.

The survey found 44 percent of seniors have never checked their credit reports, and 41 percent of millennials haven't either. 

Among those Americans who have checked their credit report, 48 percent have reviewed at least one of the their reports within the past year.

It's recommended that you check your credit report at least three times a year.

It can often be the first indicator of identity theft.
