Hawkeyes shut-out Michigan, win another Big Ten series

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (KWWL) -

 Calvin Mathews and Nick Hibbing had it going on Sunday, allowing a combined 4 hits and no runs as Iowa shut-out Michigan 2-0. With the win, Iowa captured 2 of 3 games from the Wolverines over the weekend. The Hawkeyes have won all 6 of their conference series this season.

Mathews allowed just 3 hits over 6 innings of work against a team that came in holding a league leading combined .303 batting average. Hibbing allowed just one hit while finishing out the final 3 innings.

At the plate, Tyler Peyton led the way for the Hawks going 3 for 5 on the day with one RBI.

Iowa hosts Western Illinois on Tuesday in non-conference play. The Hawkeyes then welcome Minnesota in to Iowa City for their final home series of the season.
