ANN ARBOR, Mich. (KWWL) -

Iowa hit the ball early, but struggled late as they'd fall 11-5 at Michigan on Saturday afternoon. The loss snapped the Hawkeyes' 6 game winning streak.

The two teams hit the ball well in the early innings, going to the 6th inning in a 5-5 tie. That's when the Wolverines broke through on a 2 RBI double to right from Carmen Bendetti. Michigan blew it open with 4 more runs in the 7th inning.

Iowa reliever Jared Mandel suffered the loss, allowing the 2 6th inning runs in 2/3 of an inning's worth of work. Tyler Payton struggled in the start allowing 5 runs in 5 innings.

The Hawkeyes and Wolverines play the rubber match in Ann Arbor at noon on Sunday.
