WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Three kids were able to escape a house fire in Waterloo Friday morning.

Firefighters were called to 617 West 1st Street shortly after 11:30 a.m. Friday for a report of a house fire.

Crews arrived to find smoke coming from the second floor.

Battalion Chief Marty Freshwater told KWWL that three kids were home at the time and escaped without injury.

Freshwater also said two adults and seven kids live in the home.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
