Wrist tattoos may create problems for Apple Watch users

Posted: Updated:

Some customers of the recently released Apple Watch say that their wrist tattoos are creating problems for the watch; they those tats aren't letting their heart rate sensors work correctly.

Those heart rate sensors are tied to a lot of key functions of the watch.

Apple says the watch uses infrared lights that flash through your skin to read heart rates, but tattoo inks can block those lights.

Those customers do have the ability to shut down the wrist detection feature, but that means the watch won't work like it should.

Apple hasn't commented on the customer complaints.
