DES MOINES (KWWL) -

Iowa City High's Sarah Plock etched her name in the Drake Relays history books, and it didn't go unnoticed.

On Monday, Plock was named the winner of the Gerry Cooley Award, given to the outstanding high school girls' performer at the relays.

The Little Hawk senior became the first athlete to win the girls' 400 meter hurdles event in 3 consecutive seasons, finishing in a time of 1:01.55. Her time of 1:00.55 earlier in the year sits 2nd all-time in the state of Iowa.

Plock will continue her track career at Iowa State University.
