Iowa inmate serving life sentence dies of COPD

CORALVILLE (KWWL) - An Iowa inmate serving a life sentence has died.

Michael Corbin Rouse was sentenced to prison on May 31, 1996, in Boone County for first-degree murder.

According to the Iowa Department of Corrections, on Sunday Rouse died of natural causes resulting from exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). 

Rouse was at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center Long Term Ambulatory Medical Unit.
