Nylabone dog chew recalled for possible salmonella

(NBC) - Nylabone Products is recalling some of its puppy dog chews because they could be contaminated with salmonella.

The product comes in a 1.69-ounce package marked with lot #21935, UPC #21935, UPC 0-18214-81291-3, located on the back of the package.

It also comes with an expiration date of 3/22/18 stamped on the back of the package.

The dog chews were distributed nationwide, to Canada, and through one domestic online mail-order facility.

So far no illnesses have been reported.

Pets with salmonella can become lethargic and have a fever, diarrhea and vomiting.

Customers should immediately stop giving the product to their pets and take all unused portions of the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
