Twins' Nolasco completes rehab stint in Cedar Rapids

Posted: Updated:
CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

Ricky Nolasco's time with the Cedar Rapids Kernels was short. The Twins' starting pitcher threw 5 innings in the Kernels' 3-2 loss to Kane County and then drove back to Minneapolis with the hopes of returning to Minnesota's rotation this week.

Nolasco's rehab start was the second in 2 years, and he looked ready to return to the big leagues after a solid outing. He gave up just one unearned run and three hits while striking out 5 in the quick 66 pitch outing. The start was his first game action since going on the disabled list on April 8 due to elbow pain.

Nolasco, who believes he's ready to return to the Twins' line-up, will speak with team management on Monday.
