Hawks open double-header with walk-off win over Nebraska

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

 Jimmy Frankos line drive base hit in the bottom of the 10th made the difference as Iowa walked off with a 4-3 win over Nebraska on Sunday afternoon. The victory in the opener of the double-header clinched the Hawkeyes' 6th straight Big Ten series win for the 1st time in school history.

On the mound, 4 Iowa pitchers combined to allow just 1 earned run on 5 Cornhusker hits. Nick Hibbing picked up the win, striking out 2, while pitching a perfect inning in the top of the 10th.

Eric Toole went 3 of 4 at the plate with 1 RBI, and 1 run scored on a deep triple by Jake Mangler in the 6th. Mangler went 3 for 5 on the day with the 1 RBI.
