Abercrombie & Fitch makes changes at stores nationwide

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (NBC) -

A new policy leads to no more shirtless models at Abercrombie & Fitch stores and other changes.

The company has sent a memo to regional and district managers regarding store policy changes at its namesake and Hollister stores.

The changes include no longer hiring store associates based on body type of physical attractiveness, changing store associate titles from "model" to "brand representative," and discontinuing the use of shirtless models at store openings and events.

"Sexualized" images printed on shopping bags, gift cards and other marketing material will also come to an end by the end of July.
