The day started dry and fast in Des Moines --

and in the 110 hurdles -- no one was faster than Solon's Connor Ham -- winning his first Drake title in the event going 14 point 31 seconds --

"It feels good, but I know I'm definitely not done. I know this is really not an important meet. The most important is state coming up. That's where it all matters, so that's what I'm looking forward to the most."

Cedar Rapids Prairie came up just shy in the boys sprint medley taking second behind West Des Moines Dowling --improving one spot for a 3rd place finish last year --

Marie Wrage of Union also grabbed a runner up spot in the girls high jump going over the bar at 5 foot 6 --

track only seemed to get faster -- that extra speed wasn't exactly necessary for Linn-Mar's Stephanie Jenks."

in the University 4-hundred hurdles -- Montayla Holder gave Iowa their best finish of the day -- Holder grabbed 2nd behind Ohio State's Alexis Franklin --

in the high school girls 4 by 2-hundred -- Cedar Rapids Jefferson, anchored by L Schneekloth -- set a new Drake record -- winning the first flag since 1986 for a J-Hawk relay --

in the boys race -- Cedar Falls -- qualified third -- but finished first as TreyShawn LeBeaux reeled in the competition down the stretch for a Drake title --
