Scott Walker, Carly Fiorina in Iowa as new poll comes out

Posted: Updated:

Two potential Republican candidates for President are in Iowa Friday, one day after Quinnipiac releases a new poll.

Neither Scott Walker nor Carly Fiorina have officially joined the race but are already visiting the Hawkeye State ahead of the first in the nation Iowa Caucuses.

Scott Walker will be at a public rally with Congressman Rod Blum in Cedar Rapids. Walker is doing pretty well in the most recent public polls in Iowa- and this will be his 4th trip to the state this year. He came in third in the Quinnipiac poll with 11% of the vote. Marco Rubio topped the field with 15% and Jeb Bush came in with 13%.

Carly Fiorina is the only Republican woman to make the poll and she's making a few different stops in Iowa this week. She's the former CEO of Hewlett-Packard. Friday she has a roundtable in Coralville. That will be followed by a chili supper in Tiffin. She says she's actively exploring a 2016 run and she made it clear she would be running as the anti-Hillary.
