Police say 21-year-old Leo Nopoulos was caught on camera punching, kicking and throwing things at the eight-week-old kitten. Nopoulos' roommate, 24-year-old Nathan Schloss. Police say Schloss recorded hours of video on his computer.

The kitten, named Fritz, lost one eye and went blind in the other.

Nopoulos is scheduled to be sentenced in Johnson County court on May 18.

Schloss faces charges of his own after police say they found 200 videos of homemade pornography on the same computer he recorded the cat abuse video on.

Schloss faces 18 counts of third degree sexual abuse and 22 counts of invasion of privacy.

His next court appearance is scheduled for July 2.
