CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

On Thursday, June 11th The Salvation Army will be presenting its 2nd Annual Outdoor Concert & Auction at NewBo City Market from 5:00pm – 7:30pm.

The silent auction will open at 5:00pm and Dianne Singelton will begin performing at 5:30pm on the outdoor stage. The indoor market vendors will also be open throughout the evening to guests.

Dianne Singleton, originally from Waterloo, now lives in Cedar Rapids with her husband and three children where she serves as the Music Director at First Assembly of God. She is passionate about people experiencing the life-changing presence of God through authentic music. In June of 2014 she released her first cd which helps to raise money for an orphanage in India that she has now visited twice.

The silent auction will include items such as a hot air balloon ride; a suite at a Kernel's game; a family fun package including bowling, dinner, ice cream and a photo session; s'mores package with your own fire pit, s'mores fixings and a handmade quilt; gift baskets for the college bound, fathers, mothers, and those coffee junkies; and so much more.

The event is free to attend, but donations will be accepted in the Red Kettle.

This money goes towards helping families pay rent, a free community meal, supplemental food boxes, youth programs, case management and so much more.
