CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

The Dubuque Fighting Saints are moving on again. Dubuque defeated Cedar Rapids 2-1 on Saturday night to complete the 3 game sweep and win their first round series for the 5th straight season.

The Fighting Saints' Trey Dodd dove toward a rebound off a shot by Hayden Shaw, sweeping the puck in to the goal for the first tally of the game. Evan Smith scored the Saints' second goal of the game early in the third. Joe Wegworth brought the Roughriders within one with 13 minutes left in the contest, but they couldn't manage to get the puck across the goal line for the equalizer.

Dubuque's Jacob Nehama stopped 30 of 31 shots, getting the win in goal.

The Fighting Saints will host either Muskegon or Youngstown in game one of the Eastern Conference finals on Friday night.
