BEDFORD, Iowa (AP) -- A southwestern Iowa man accused of threatening a woman with a knife in a car he was driving has been arrested on kidnapping and other charges.

The Page County Sheriff's Office says 26-year-old Shaun Savala, of New Market, is charged with second-degree kidnapping, first-degree harassment and assault with a dangerous weapon.

The Council Bluffs Daily Nonpareil reports that Savala was being held in the Page County jail on $25,000 cash bond as of Thursday night.

Authorities say Savala held a woman against her will at knifepoint in a vehicle driven by him. The woman was located safe in Clarinda Wednesday. Savala was later arrested in Taylor County.

Online court records don't list an attorney who could be contacted for comment on Savala's behalf.
