Black Hawk Co. 4-H serves hundreds

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Hundreds of people packed the UAW hall in Waterloo for breakfast, but it was all for a good cause.

It's the 21st annual Black Hawk County 4-H omelet breakfast.

Last year, more than 2,000 people walked through the doors and organizers were expecting the same crowd again this year.

Proceeds support 4-H programs including educational workshops, volunteer training, and the county fair.

"I mean a lot of people think it's just you have to have livestock to be in 4-H but even for people who do have livestock they still do cooking, photography, anything that you want to do you can pretty much learn through 4-H," said Maria Geisler, 4-H participant.

Last year the group served more than 250 dozen eggs.
