COLLEGE PARK, Md. (KWWL) -

Not much went right on Friday afternoon as the 15th ranked Iowa baseball team fell 10-1 to #21 Maryland. The loss marked the first for the Hawkeyes in 7 conference games this season.

Tyler Peyton, who had been brilliant in his first 2 Big Ten starts, had a rough go in this one. The junior hurler gave up 5 runs in 5.1 innings pitched, while hitting one batter and walking another three.

First baseman Jose Cuas led the way for Maryland going 2 for 5 in the game, belting one long ball, and batting in three.

The Hawkeyes and Terrapins play game 2 of the 3 game series at 1 pm on Saturday.
