5 killed in Benton County pickup/semi crash

BENTON COUNTY (KWWL) -

Five people were killed when their pickup truck collided with a semi in Benton County.

The Iowa State Patrol says the crash happened at Highway 150 and Sunset Street around 4:10 p.m. Thursday.

Troopers say Quentin Ary, 19, of Vinton was driving a pickup truck westbound on Sunset and was hit by a semi.

Both of the vehicles ended up in a ditch, with the semi blocking both lanes of Highway 150. 

The five people in the pickup truck were pronounced dead at the scene.

They included Ary as well as Triston Randall, 17, of Urbana; Nicole Jacobson, 20, of Vinton; Hunter Tuttle, 14, of Vinton; and Zoey Tuttle, 12, of Vinton.

The driver of the semi was Jack Youde. He was uninjured in the crash.

The Iowa State Patrol says the crash is under investigation.
