WATERLOO (KWWL) - Photos of a smiling Waterloo 4-year-old who was shot in the stomach by a stray bullet have been released to the media by his family in an attempt to put a face to the consequences of shooting violence.

Marshon Glover Jr. was playing inside his house in the 1600 block of Mulberry Street in Waterloo when someone shot a bullet through the walls of his home, hitting him in the stomach.

Marshon is expected to make a full recovery, according to family spokesman Michael Muhammad.

"The mother and family have decided to release photos of Marshon to allow the community and perpetrators to see the innocent victim of the senseless violence in the community of Waterloo," Muhammad said in a written release.

He also noted the family has been afraid to return to their home.

According to a Go Fund Me set up for the family, Marshon had surgery to remove the bullet from his intestines and was hospitalized for five days. The family is asking for help with medical expenses and lost wages during that time.

The link to the Go Fund Me is here: http://www.gofundme.com/rggpec. There is also an account set up at Veridian Credit Union under Marshon Glover Jr.'s name.

"The family thanks the community and supporters for their prayers and encouragement," Muhammad said. "The family reiterates to the community: Let's help stop the violence!"
