Hail, damaging winds and even tornadoes have the potential to affect some eastern Iowa counties this afternoon-- and once these storms appear, they'll be moving fast.

An enhanced risk of severe weather has been pushed into our area Thursday afternoon.

Iowa City, Washington, Jones and Cedar counties have a risk for large hail and tornadoes this afternoon. The best chance will be around 2 p.m. and early this evening.

If these storms appear, they will move fast.

High pressure will track in tomorrow keeping us dry through Saturday.

Another series of fronts will track through the region starting Sunday.

Storm Track 7 Chief Meteorologist Mark Schnackenberg and Storm Track 7 Meteorologist Denice Pelster contributed to this report.
