CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - The Cedar Rapids Police Department will hold an outreach program for parents and guardians discussing cyber safety.

The class will teach participants how to make mobile devices safe, security methods, how to fight dangers and popular applications among kids and teens.

In exchange for the free program, the police department is asking participants to bring a new or gently-used children's book. All books will go to the Child Protection Center.

You can register by calling the Cedar Rapids Police Department at (319) 286-5439.

The first program will be held on Thursday, April 23, at Kirkwood Community College, Linn County Regional Center, from 6-9 pm.
