Hy-Vee gives local groups grants for community gardens

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

In an effort to promote healthy living, Hy-Vee has given 130 groups grants for community gardens.

The money will be used to buy seeds, plants, and garden and other tools.

Five organizations in the Cedar Valley received grants. 

 Orange Elementary School, Poyner Garden Club with Poyner Elementary School, University Avenue Waterloo Hy-Vee One Step Garden, Northeast Iowa Food Bank, and the City of Waverly will all benefit from this money.
