CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

Holocaust survivor Miriam Brysk will speak at the University of Northern Iowa on April 20.

It will be part of the 7th annual Norman Cohn Family Holocaust Remembrance and Education lecture.

Brysk was born in Poland and came to America at the age of 12. She was unable to speak English, but had a dream to become a scientist and an artist.

She eventually obtained her Ph.D in biological sciences from Columbia University.

Brysk will share her story at 7 p.m. in Sabin Hall Room 2. The presentation is free and open to everyone.
