CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

Cedar Rapids Police say it could take more than a month for a full investigation from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation into a recent officer-involved shooting.

On Sunday, March 29, Kyle Orth was shot by two Cedar Rapids Police Officers; the DCI says the two officers who fired those shots are Jeremy Depies and Brandon Tinta. They've been with Cedar Rapids police for three-and-a-half years.

The Cedar Rapids Police Department says the DCI has to process evidence and conduct interviews which can be time consuming.

Once the DCI finishes its investigation, their case will be presented to the Linn County Attorney's Office. If charges will be filed against anyone, it won't happen until the Linn County Attorney makes the decision.

Those with the Police Department say it could take more than 30 days for charges to be filed, if any will be filed at all.
