OELWEIN (KWWL) -

Three men from Independence were injured when the pick-up they were in was broadsided by a dump truck.

The Iowa State Patrol says 19-year-old Cody Lee Holub of Independence was headed east on County Line Road at around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday when a dump truck driven by 31-year-old Cody Lee Christianson came from a private driveway at the Oelwein quarry, hitting Holub's truck on the driver's side.

Holub was flown to an Iowa City hospital. Two passengers, 18-year-old Tony Lopez and 18-year-old Michael Stiefel, both of Independence, were taken Mercy Hospital in Oelwein.

Christianson was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
