It's official, Jake Rudock is transferring to play for Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines.  The Big Ten granted Rudock a waiver to play at Michigan. Rudock was a release from head coach Kirk Ferentz to pursue other opportunities after he was demoted to second string behind  visited Michigan in early March and is considered a favorite to start at quarterback this fall.

At Iowa, C.J. Beathard is embracing his new role as a starter.  Beathard spoke with the media on Wednesday for the first time since being promoted to starter after the TaxSlayer Bowl.  Beathard says he's ready to step up and lead the Hawkeye Football team.

Beathard says, "You know obviously Jake decided to transfer and I wish the best for him because we were friends--he decided to part ways.
Right now it's become my team so I'm taking that leadership and sometimes its easier to lead when you are not splitting reps--so I like though."

The Hawkeyes conclude spring practices on April 25th.
