CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

The Cedar Rapids Solid Waste & Recycling Division will have leaf vacuum truck drivers out starting on Monday, April 6.

Leaf collection will likely happen on the same day as your regular garbage collection, unless the trucks have to deal with bad weather or too many leaves.

Residents should put their leaves in long rows on the grass near the street for collection; they should be kept off the street and away from obstacles. Also, make sure to keep brush and debris out of the piles.

The vacuum truck does not go through alleys, and if cars are parked in front of the piles, the truck won't be able to suck up the leaves.

The trucks will run through May 1.
