Iowa Falls woman admits to stealing $144,181 from bank

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

An Iowa Falls woman admitted in federal court today that she stole more than $140,000 from her employer.

Teresa Ann Kobriger, 42, pleaded guilty to one count of embezzlement by a bank employee for stealing $144,181.47 from Iowa Falls Sate Bank while she was employed there.

Kobriger admitted that she embezzled the money between December 2008 and December 2012 by taking it from her teller drawer and the bank vault and then altering bank records. She was the head teller at the time.

Kobriger faces up to 30 years in prison and a $1,000,000 fine. A sentencing date has not been set. She remains free while awaiting her sentencing.
