Bone-dry conditions create fire danger

Posted: Updated:
BLACK HAWK COUNTY (KWWL) -

The weather will warm up on Wednesday, but that will also bring more concerns about fires.

Storm Track 7 Meteorologist Eileen Loan says a warm front will bring higher temperatures, low humidity and strong winds.  The grasses are already very dry, so it won't take much to get a fire to run out of control.

Eileen says the winds will be strongest from around 10:30 a.m. through 6 or 7 p.m. Wednesday. (South 15-30 mph, gusting to 40 mph at times) Temperatures will be able to get into the 70s fairly easily with the strong south winds, sunshine and the very dry ground.
