DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

A Dubuque man will spend more than seven years in federal prison after pleading guilty to owning an unregistered sawed-off shotgun.

24-year-old Jordan Edmonds was sentenced Thursday.

At a plea hearing, Edmonds admitted he knowingly possessed the 12-gauge shotgun.  The gun had a barrel less than 18 inches long and also had a partially obliterated serial number.

The shotgun was not registered to him.
