IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

One day after Tyler Peyton's brilliant outing on the mound, Iowa's Blake Hickman made it two in a row. Hickman allowed just one run in 8 innings pitched as Iowa defeated #19 Indiana 5-1. The win clinched the conference opening series for the Hawks with the final game set for Sunday.

Dan Potempa's bases loaded sac fly gave Iowa a 1-0 lead in the 1st inning that they'd never relinquish. They put things away with a 4 run 4th. Nick Roscetti cranked a 2-run shot, the first of his career over the fence in left field. Jake Mangler's 2 run double rounded out the scoring.

With the win, Iowa opened Big Ten play at 2-0 for the first time in 19 years. Their last back to back wins over a ranked team occurred in 2012.
