WINNESHIEK COUNTY (KWWL) - The drivers of two vehicles were injured after a two-car crash on Highway 52 in Winneshiek County.

Korbin Paul, 26, of Decorah, was taken by Medlink Air Ambulance to Gundersen Hospital, according to the Iowa State Patrol. Rhonda Schnitzler, 43, also of Decorah, was taken by Decorah Ambulance to Decorah Hospital.

Their injuries and conditions were not released.

According to the state patrol, Paul's Honda Accord was southbound on Hwy. 52 just after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday when he lost control of his vehicle, swerving into the northbound lane.

Schnitzler was driving her Chevrolet Traverse northbound on Hwy. 52, saw Paul's vehicle move into her lane, and attempted to avoid a collision by moving into the southbound lane. That's when troopers say Paul's vehicle slid back into the southbound lane.

Schnitzler's vehicle hit the driver's side of Paul's vehicle, according to troopers.

Decorah Police, Decorah Fire and the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
