CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

A new deputy auditor has been appointed for Linn County.

Linn County Auditor Joel Miller appointed Stacey Law to the position of Deputy Auditor of the Property Tax & Real Estate Services Division of the Office of Linn County Auditor.

Law has worked for Linn County for 29 years – five years for the Assessor's Office and 24 years for the Auditor's Office.

For the last four years, She worked on the conversion of the County's real estate records from a mainframe computer system to a new client/server-based system known as Aumentum.

The cit says Law has become an expert on real estate transfers and an expert on maintaining the integrity of Linn County's real estate system and records.

The current Deputy Auditor, Gordon Thompson will retire May 29 after 35 years of working for Linn County.

Law is expected to be be sworn into office by Associate Judge Russell Keast at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 27.

The public is invited to attend the oath of office ceremony.
